Funky Pinkies

You'll never see earrings like this in the store! These earrings are made using pink glass beads and crackled clear glass beads. Crackled glass beads are formed when when a glass bead is made and then immediately cooled down. The earrings are about two inches long from the top of the earring hook to the bottom of the earring. As always I can exchange the earring hooks for sterling silver ones. Check here for complete details!

The Melissa Joy Collection

I have a friend who just adores pink. She is the biggest pink fanatic I've ever met! I made these earrings this week and after I made them I thought, "they remind me so much of Melissa". So here is the first item in the Melissa Joy Collection: Pink Garden Earrings. These pink beauties are made using solid pink glass beads and feature glass beads with pink flowers and a thin ribbon of gold. They are simply lovely and perfect for the pink lover. Each earring measure two inches from the top of the earring hook to the bottom of the earring. If you would like to substitute sterling silver earring hooks please contact me. As always, you can check out more about these earrings here.

One of my favorites...

These awesome earrings are among my favorites... and yes, I realize they have purple in them too. I love the color combination and think they're pretty cute. They are made of beads in silver, green, purple, blue and a fainter blue. I can also rework these to have sterling silver earring hooks instead of surgical steel. Everyone's Favorite is Now on SALE

This has been one of my biggest hits on Etsy. A lot of people have come to look at it and have commented positively on it. It's my beaded butterfly comb. I think it's lovely and I can easily add a veil to it for the bride who wants this with her veil. It's also beautiful on its own. Still, no one has bought it and so it waits for the perfect buyer who can now buy it on sale. This beautiful comb was made using glass beads, wire and crystals shaped into butterflies. This comb will look especially nice with a wedding or other formal ensemble. The silver and transparent crystals give a beautiful sparkle to an elegant look.

An Intermission - Just Making

I cannot tell you how many times I've been told to go to grad school. I graduated with a degree in applied mathematics, completed the honors program, graduated Magna Cum Laude and wrote a research thesis as an undergrad but I am not enrolled in grad school. Even now I'm not working full time. My husband is the chief financial provider around here and I get to make the food. Believe me, it's much better this way. If he did the cooking we'd have pizza and bagged pre-made food from the frozen section every day. I work part time as a math tutor and do enjoy that. There are some kids out there who have fallen through the cracks and I like being able to help them. I also got caught up in making wedding veils and then jewelry and other things. I am completely enjoying this. What bothers me is that some people think I'm wasting my time tutoring and making various things. I like being able to make things. I've also met some great people on Etsy. There are so many people out there who make handmade items. Beautiful, wonderful items! But because the price is slightly higher than what you can find at Walmart people don't want to buy handmade items even if they really are better quality. A lot of love and work goes into craft. Just look at these handmade soaps! They are made so well! Also look at these and these. There are also a lot of people who make their own glass beads. I wish I could do that. This person and this person do an especially good job. And check out how creative this person is! Yet despite the overwhelming amount of talent out there people are struggling with their craft. The usual consumer is looking for a deal but when things are handmade they take time in order to have a great product and they tend to cost more so one can make a living. All this and I still could find a job doing higher math for some company somewhere in the Milwaukee area. I like what I'm doing now. I don't consider it a waste of time to do what I am doing. I'm taking a risk. Maybe in the end I will have to pick up a full time math job to pay the bills but right now I'm just making.

Beautiful Glass Beaded Bracelet

This is the bracelet that my sister Evelyn calls "super cute". I made her one to especially fit her small wrist. This beautiful bracelet is made using glass beads and glass pearls in colors of white, pink and green. The glass beads are wire wrapped in intricate patters. The bracelet measures just over seven and a half inches long. Check out more pictures here!

Multicolored Beaded Earrings!

These gorgeous earrings are approximately two and seven eighths long from the top of the hook to the bottom of the earring. They are pretty flexible. Most of my earrings are made of wire that is pretty thick and doesn't bend too easily. These earrings are made of two layers of thinner wire. They won't break but they aren't poker straight all the time either. They will make a beautiful addition to your jewelry box!

I can also rework these to have sterling silver earring hooks instead of surgical steel for an additional $2. Please contact me if you are interested.

The veil comes with a detachable comb and has three layers of glass beads handsewn to the top with invisible thread. This veil is currently on sale for just $49! A great price for the bride wanting to look beautiful but working on a budget! Believe me, I've been there. I made my own wedding veil and had a DIY wedding. For more pictures, go to
